I never thought my life would go the way it did. So much good and bad. Or that I would be writing Blow2, the book and movie sequel to the movie Blow. Now that my cousin George Jung has passed I think it’s time I tell the story. My story. I got a second chance. Just like George had a few times but sadly was too ill, stupid or stubborn to take. I know what it was like growing up in the Jung family. George Jung, or Boston George, had a profound impact on my life. I loved George’s father and mother. They were my Uncle Fred, played by Ray Liotta, and my Aunt Irma, played by Rachel Griffiths. They sent me birthday cards every year with money, just like my grandmother Jen Jung and my aunt Gertrude Jung. So they never had big money problems like the movie portrayed. I’m trying to tell another side of the Jung story.

Growing up in a Dutch household meant when the Jung’s got together there was always tons of great food and it was well run, like clockwork. The whole Jung family would all be there. My great Uncle Fred Jung, great Aunt Irma Jung (Ermine), and my great uncle George Jung. He was Boston George’s and my uncle. There was Aunt Gertrude Jung and my grandmother, Jen Jung. Both George Jung quoted in his book in a not so favorable light which really pissed me off when I read it. I threw the book Blow down and haven’t been able to finish it since and it’s 2021. I remember our family BBQs or picnics always broke up into two distinct and physically separate groups. One group was all the adults speaking in hush voices all grouped tightly together. No doubt talking about George Jung’s latest bust, request for money, or some other major problem he caused our family. The other group was all us kids. We were always told to play away from the adults. Out of earshot. It wasn’t until 22 years later that I even knew George was my cousin. He was hidden from me. I learned many things were hidden from me. It must be a Jung family trait. We’re good at it….We were living in Brookfield CT and my dad working at Danbury Bank as the President when we found out our cousin was locked up in Danbury Federal Penitentiary. My dad seemed like a working stiff to me. I also found out this is far from the truth and his past was also hidden from me. My life is like a 5 card poker hand of what I though was true, being then being turned over one by 1 over time to something totally unexpected.
I started slow and built my way up like any other business. I didn’t think I would go from stealing to smuggling cocaine but I did.
Playing sports runs in the Jung family so living in Stowe, Vermont was perfect at first.
